Compassion vs. Consumption

backlash 2009 copy

Compassion is greater than consumption.

What would it look like if our consumerism was mixed with compassion. I understand that we all have needs as well as things we want and there is nothing wrong with that. I just want to be driven less by what I want and live with compassion toward the basic needs of others. How can a person, family, community or corporation live this out?

This can be live in a practical way by,

  • spending less
  • giving more (to the basic human needs of others)
  • invite people to the cause. (you decide what cause to invite friends to)

The trend across the western world on “Black Friday” November 27th, 2009 will be to spend more than people have. This is never a good thing.  And so, I am suggesting a peaceful “Backlash.” I want to encourage you to go against the spending trend, find a worthy cause to give to and invite your friends to that cause.  If you would like to donateto ChristmasWater.org 100% of your donation will go directly to clean water solutions in under resourced countries around the world.

Backlash, a black friday event, a day to offset consumerism and live selflessly. Spend less, give more & invite people to the cause.
